Hi Ferdi!

"Here is the full run down on what I do with these amps. I would go with a matched pair of the JJ 6L6GC's that are on the cool side because the Prosonic's are biased very hot, this will help get the static bias point down a little which will add some shimmer. As for the preamp tubes I would go with five of the JJ ECC83S's and one JJ ECC81. The JJ's have a very deep tight low end, a natural harmonically rich mid and a smooth sweet high end with a nice
sparkle that's not brittle.
I would use a graded and balanced ECC83S in the phase splitter hole which is the preamp tube that's closest to the power tubes ( the one on the left when looking at the back of the amp ). This will eliminate any dead spots and really make the amp sing. Replacing the chinese 5AR4 with a good GZ34 will warm up the tone and make the amp more dynamic so I would go with a JJ GZ34.
If your trying to cut the gain ( which I think would work for you ) you might be interested in a hybrid tube I'm using in my Prosonic and 5150 to cut the gain, it's called the JJ ECC832 which is a 12DW7. This tube is half of an ECC83S ( 12AX7 ) and half of an ECC82 ( 12AU7 ). I use two of them in my Prosonic, one in V2 and one in V3. This actually sound VERY nice in amps that cascade the gain through several preamp tubes. It cuts down the gain by about 40% but retains a nice crisp attack and warm tone where just dropping down to a 12AT7 seems to dull the tone a bit."

Viele Grüße (und besten Dank für Deine Recherche-Mühen)
Christian
