Relicaster 1961 Fender Telecaster Replica!  

Here something you dont see every day. This is a 1961 Fender Telecaster replica built in USA by Mike Powell (Mr.Relicaster) with the heavy relic treatment. Mike is one of a handful of top Fender experts, who is also a top guitarist. He owns dozens of genuine vintage Fenders and is reputed to know these guitars better than the Fender factory. He is well know as someone that makes replicas that could pass for originals.
Here the specs:
- light 2-pieces swamp ash body finished in "real nitro laquer finish". The color is an old school black reliced to perfection, including finish checking and heavy relic wear!
- maple neck with slab Brazilian rosewood fingerboard. Obviously nitro finished and reliced as well. Medium thickness, not thin and not clubby, makes for effortless playing. The fingerboard has a vintage 7,25" radius and 21 vintage frets with very light to no wear. The edges of the fingerboard were rolled and the dots are real aged “clay”! Simply amazing.
- aged bridge plate with treated steel saddles
- old original Kluson vintage tuners for great tuning stability (no Japanese replicas!)
- aged control plate with aged original Fender barrel knobs
- the electronic is something special: it has 2 original CTS pots from 1961 and a 1950´s tube foil capacitor!! Vintage cloth wire everywhere.
- stunning aged 1-ply cream pickguard
- Fender Nocaster pickups which sound great!
- Fender decal on the headstock right over the finish like on the originals. This is a very high quality decal with real silver ink not a cheap inkjet decal!!
This indeed is a killer lightweight guitar. It sounds "loud" unplugged with tons of harmonics. The nitro finish is thin like it should.. feels alive and the relic treatment is far better and realistic than the Fender Custom Shop one imho.
Relicaster guitars are very rare and sell for xxxx-xxxx USD. This could be the only one in Europe!

Habe sie schon mit der Band gespielt und das hat riesigen Spaß gemacht und sie klang auch toll. Für mich ist auch schon klar, bei welchen Songs ich sie beim nächsten Gig spielen werde. Gitarrenschmetterlinge im Bauch, das macht Spaß.
