(Aussenjam) (aussenjam) #58 - Clay′s take

Hi guys!

I wish I could speak or read German (and, more importantly remember how to post here since I do it so rarely)... but I do often look over your shoulders to hear the music you all make over many of the same tracks we use at the Les Paul Forum. Listening to Jochen and Andi all the time is a great treat, and I'm always very impressed by the great playing you all do.

Anyway, here's my own take on Daze.
Clay\'s Days in May take

Thanks to Jochen (and BT) for the great advice, encouragement and playing on this track! It was great fun to have their input. Jochen's chugging rhythm on the right and Bigsby Track's jangly sort of Alt Country licks on the left (as well as help with an idea for some of my own Tele spanking during the chrous of the backing) enhanced the track quite a bit. I can't wait to hear what the rest of you do with it.

Clay

Hi Clay,

first: thanks again for this wonderful backing and your kind words.

Btw, I uploaded your take to the aussensaiter-webspace, it's now also here:

(the same link is also used on the aussenjam-page)

Clay, I said on the LPF that one can feel clearly that this backing is "your baby" and I can only repeat myself after listening to your beautiful take again.

Whith your emotive playing, those really nice melodies and the perfect build-up and wonderful tones you laid down a really great track. What a fine listen.

cheers

Jochen

Re: (Aussenjam) (aussenjam) #58 - Clay′s take

Hi Dan,

Thanks for the kind words. On this one, I think I had a plan for the overall sound I wanted, but got a little bit burned out before the execution -- with Jochen and Bigsby's help I spent a lot of time on the backing, adding layers of things and working on the sound, and by the time I got around to laying down some lead my "ears were tired" and it was hard to be fresh...

I hope now that Jochen has reminded me how to navigate and post here, you may hear from me more often. You guys have a wonderful community here, with outstanding players. With luck, I'll be able to hold my own. I should be able to post some of my tracks done on older Aussenjams, if it won't seem like "old news" by now. I'm basically just a pentatonic blues guy. Two years and more of LPF jams are all posted on my Soundclick site here... you might recognize a few!
