This was a very fun challenge, exposing very quickly how little I know about mixing a whole band! But it was very fun to try, and even more fun to listen to all your individual performances so closely.

Here's an alternate mix from later... a few tweaks to some other parts as I was working on the drums. I think the snare sounds better -- but I went too far on some things: the kick drum is thumping a bit too much and the cymbals seem a bit harsh. And on this one I think my guitar is too loud for the "solo".

in my ears No. 2 is much better, esp. the snare.

This whole thing is much more than a jam - not only noodling over something, someone put together in his bedroom...

I was there, when the guys put that stuff on the tape. Very much "first take, I don´t give a shit" - sorry for that rude words - and not really studio-like at all but it was fun for us all.

It is a big experience to mix this stuff and everybody can learn much more out of that if we talk about music. Come on - who needs guitar soloing?

This is indeed a great challenge -- not only for my CPU, but for a guy used to noodling with just a guitar track or two in his bedroom. Mixing drums is very mysterious to me, and I have only worked with vocals a few times.

I may mess around with it some more... so far I have not actually made any "producer" or editing choices, have not changed the shape or emphasis much of the actual performances in the service of the song -- or anything like that.

It might also, perhaps, be instructive for the mixers to detail what they did to the various tracks... especially if there is someone who really knows what they are doing! ;-)
