First off, I miss you guys.. Been crazy at home! Our twins are over 13 months old now! Not much time to do Aussenjams ;)
Anyway, my bud John Czajkowski, http://www.hecticwatermelon.com/ , posted this snippet of one of his originals over at another forum. He emailed me permission to post it. It SLAMS! Amazing band he has. Killer player too! Check him out.
Here is the solo bed of Bionic Hillbilly http://www.hecticwatermelon.com/media/mp3/BionicHillbillysolobed.mp3
Just D to E. Easy changes but the rhythms are tricky!
Here are my two takes.
Glaswerks SOD50 amp, 90s Dumble voice, Eminence Red White and Blue speaker, Audix I5 mic, Baker RF bridge.

Hi Scott,
holy cow... that requires some real funky player...
Needed to listen to it a few times, now it got stuck in my ears...its amazing how you get "out of the Box", return and still keep the song flowing...
I like ithe 2nd Track better and probably there is no chance that I would be able to lay down such a decent track...

Hi Scott,
very cool, man !
The "frickel"-factor is high.
I didn't find the word "frickel" in the dictionary.
For all those old-school blues oriented guys it means: "damn too many notes"
For all the ones who love Steve Morse, Steve Vai, John Petrucci, Allan Holdsworth, Frank Gambale, Bill Connors AND Frank Zappa (or many others, but you know what I mean) this means musical sensuality combined with technical SKILL.
So these tracks FIT !
Greetings from the "frickel-comissioner" (and sometimes missioneer...haha)

Wow, that's the stuff I love.
Thanks Scott. Are you still stick to your Fuchs amps.
I also noticed that you recorded some samples of the
Zendrive... Are you using it too?
Best to you,
Rolli

Thanks for listening! It was very difficult for me to NOT play many notes on this backing. The rhythms made me "lock in" with big phrases. I'd love to hear some more takes on it!!!

Hi Scott,
thanks for the great backing track.
Your playing is excellent, I wish I had that variety!
Here's my take, just my standard licks... I'm glad though I didn't need to go like this for say 4 or 5 Mins :))
I'd appreciate any comments.

Hi Scott,
the take shows once again your exeptional ability on the guitar.
But from my personal point of view, there are too many notes, it´s strenuous to listen and the backing is something like "highly sophisticated but unfortunately unbearable" ;-)
Don´t feel angry - in general i really appreciate your playing, but sorry.... not this time ;-)
cheers

Hi MArkus,

Hi Wonder,
Vielen Dank fuer's Feedback!

Also Musik die alle Register zieht. Eine schöne Mischung von langen, kurzen Noten, Stakkato, Arpeggios... Schwer zu erklären. ;-)

Vielen Dank fuer's Feedback!

Hi,

Hi John,
thank you for the great contribution to the Aussenjam!
I'm strongly impressed with Bionic Hillbilly and all the other songs on hecticwatermelon.com.
Because of it's high amount of creativity and innovation it's exactly the kind of music I love to listen to.
It reminds me on 'Uncle Moe's Space Ranch' or Donati's 'On The Virg'...
The controversy about that kind of music is a common thing and in my opinion rather something to be happy about :)
Hope your CD comes out soon - I'm definitely going to get one!
It would be great to hear some more of you guys on the Aussenjam!
Greetings,

Of course I would really appreciate your support! If you are interested in the release dates for the CD, please check in with the band website over the next two months for updates. I hope to have it all ready to go by Spring. Its especially cool to have new listeners in Germany since I would love to ultimately figure out a way to get the band to Europe (and definitely Germany given that my mothers family is of German origin) once we have enough of a base.
I'll put some other things up on the forums to solo over. But if you can't wait, there is a very fun metric modulation section from our tune, "Subterranean Rapid Transit" already up on the Chopping Block section of the band website. Of course, my soloing approach to it can be heard on the site musik player. If anybody decides to take it out for a drive, please let me know!

Hi Scott,
thanks for the cool backing.
Good I posted mine before listening to your takes. :-)
Stellar inside/outside playing as always. Man, I wish I had some of your chops. Love your tone too.
I like your first take a little better, because of it's wildness.
Regards to John for the great backing.
