(Band) Hughie Thomasson passed away

ich weiß, dass es hier einige Southern-Rock-Freunde neben mir noch gibt, und Hughie Thomasson war ja unlängst schon einmal in einem Thread geannt worden, aber hier nun leider eine traurige Nachricht schon vom 10. September; Originalton vom amrikanischen Southern Rock Radio:

The Outlaws Hughie Thomasson

Hughie Thomasson passed away on Saturday night in his sleep.

Hughie was 55 yrs. old and at home in Brooksville, Fl. Our manager (a good friend of Hughie,) spoke to his wife this morning. We are all deeply saddened by this loss. Hughie was a big influence on myself and my bandmates.

I will never forget the conversations I had with Hughie on the phone about producing a Rebel Pride CD, and I will never forget playing guitar and talking shop with Hughie at our managers kitchen table years ago.

I am grateful for having seen the Outlaws Reunion Tour last year. I am grateful that he shared such great music with us over the years. It was an honor to have known him. Hughie was a fine and outstanding gentleman who will be missed by all who knew and loved this great man.

Our sympathies go out to Hughie's wife Mary and the whole Thomasson family.

....schade, aber ich bin froh, dass ich Hughie von einigen Jahren noch zusammen mit Skynyrd live auf der Museumsmeile Bonn sehen und hören konnte. Hat er eigentlich je etwas anderes gespielt als seine Strat, die er sogar auf dem Arm eintätowiert hatte?
