I have an amp with an effects loop. How should I connect my PODxt?

Answer
There are a few possible ways to route your signal:

1- Guitar-> POD XT Live-> Amp input.
This is the standard routing. It works but you will be stacking 2 pre amps in series (the POD XT Live is a preamp) and it might not give you the best results.

2- Guitar -> Amp In / Amp FX Send-> POD IN - POD Out -> Amp FX Return
With this routing you would have to bypass the amp modeling on the POD XTL and use it for FX only, using your amp own overdrive.

3- Guitar-> POD XT Live In - POD XT Live Out -> Amp FX Return
With this routing you would be using your POD XT Live as the main Pre amp and distortion generator and you would only use the power amp section of your amplifier. This is IMHO, the best routing in terms of flexibility and sound quality.

Make sure you also adjust the OUTPUT Mode on the XTL for each routing:

Routing 1 - Stack FRONT

Routing 2 & 3 - Stack PWRAMP
